记者从市交通委获悉，2024年12月15日（周日）首班车起，地铁3号线一期（东四十条—东坝北）、12号线（四季青桥—东坝北）、昌平线南延一期剩余段（西土城—蓟门桥）及昌平线南延朱房北站等3条（段）城市轨道交通新线将开通试运营，新增运营里程约43公里。

届时，北京城市轨道交通运营总里程将达879公里。新线开通后，可实现与多条南北向轨道交通线路的连通，补充中心城区东西向轨道交通廊道，同时也为马甸、安贞、东坝等成熟居住区增添更便利的公共交通选择，对于完善轨道交通网格、缓解中心城区交通压力、服务沿线重点功能区建设具有重要意义，也将对优化城市交通结构、带动城市发展有着重要意义。

同时，朝阳站交通枢纽随轨道新线开通同步投运，可实现多种交通方式换乘。
